Thank you for your interest in my new book: A Life Made with Artists: Doris Littrell and the Oklahoma Native Art Scene. Ever since Doris Littrell retired and closed her Oklahoma Indian Art Gallery in Oklahoma City for good, whenever the artists and collectors who frequented it had reason to come together, someone would mention the need for a book about Doris and her contributions to the contemporary Oklahoma Indian Art Movement and the Native artists she inspired.

And now we have that book. A Life Made with Artists tells the story of Doris’s life—from her hardscrabble upbringing in southwestern Oklahoma to her years at the helm of the Oklahoma Indian Art Gallery on Southwest 44th Street. Those who love Native art will be pleased to learn the book includes 32 color pages of work by some of the more than sixty-five artists that Doris worked with through the years. In fact, Robert Taylor provided the portrait of Doris that graces its cover.
